Student Records
Cahokia Unit School District #187 complies with all federal and state laws and all Illinois Office of Education rules and regulations relating to the Illinois School Student Records Act.
The student permanent record consists of basic identifying information, academic transcript, attendance records, health records, and record of release of permanent record information.
The student temporary record consists of all information not required to be in the student permanent record, including family background information, test scores, psychological evaluations, teacher anecdotal records, and disciplinary information.
Parents/Guardians have the right to:
Inspect and copy records.
Challenge the contents of records.
Grant written consent before records may be released.
Copy records proposed to be destroyed.
Parents/Guardians of disabled children shall be informed of the potential future usefulness of records of their children. The following information is designated as public information: name, address, grade level, participation in extracurricular activities, and awards and honors received. Local, state, federal, legal and educational officials have access to student records for educational and administrative purposes without parent/guardian consent.
Changes In Addresses And Telephone Numbers
An emergency phone number is required by the second day of school. Changes in addresses and telephone numbers must be reported to the school. This information will assist school personnel in obtaining immediate assistance for the student.
