National Honor Society

Advisor: Nicole Webb

Excited to learn about NHS? We don't blame you! Much more than an Honor Roll, NHS is a distinctive learning experience that provides a solid foundation for students who are focused on academics and want to build their leadership skills.

How to Become a Member

You excel.  You serve.  You lead.  You succeed.  You have a true thirst for success, challenge and accomplishment.  At the beginning of your junior and senior year, the NHS advisor will work with the counseling department to identify honor students who uphold the pillars of the national organization and local Chapter.

The Four Pillars

Scholarship = 3.5 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) with honors courses

Service = voluntary contributions made by a student to the school and community without compensation

Leadership = leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from classroom and school-wide activities.

Character = the student of good character will have an excellent behavior record; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others.

Students who meet the above standards will be contacted by the NHS advisor in the month of September of their junior and senior year.

Understanding the Obligations of NHS

Students who accept membership and are inducted into the chapter should be aware of the time commitment involved with this honor.  Monthly chapter meetings and individual and group service projects are some of the requirements for each member.
