My name is Melissa Fields, Principal of Penniman Elementary. I have been in education for 20 years with 18 years in the Cahokia School District! I have taught PE for most of my time in Cahokia. My leadership experiences include serving as a member of the School Leadership Team, PBIS Team, Crisis Team, and I have served as head teacher for multiple years. My educational background includes the following: Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Masters in Special Education, and Master in Education Administration.

I am a mom to four amazing daughters. My oldest is in high school while my triplets are entering 5th grade. I love to be in the gym lifting weights, the ocean/beach is my happy place, and I value family time more than anything. I am a huge sports person and my favorite sport to watch and play is basketball. I love food with pizza being my favorite.

I am looking forward to promoting a culture and climate that is positive, nurturing, and puts students first. I am excited to bring all of my ideas and experience to the Penniman family and have a great school year.
