The Huffman Huskies would like to wish all veterans a Happy Veterans Day! Thank you for your service! The CHS JROTC Cadets under the leadership of 1st Sergeant Mayo-Akien visited Huffman for a Veterans Day Service Project last Thursday. Our students made cards and colored photos for veterans. Thank you to all veterans and the CHS JROTC program for this learning opportunity for our students.
Yesterday, we celebrated 82 students who met the criteria for our October Attendance Challenge! The students were present, on time and stayed the entire day from October 10-31, 2024. The students enjoyed an ice cream social and a quick dance off before heading back to class. We look forward to celebrating our students who earn the November attendance challenge! Parents, thank you for making sure your students are on time and present everyday!
We had a ball at Huffman Family Skate Night at Skate City in Belleville, IL. Our teachers, staff, students and families enjoyed themselves rolling around the rink. Shout out to Mr. Whaley and his class for having the most students in attendance. Thank you to all who attended! We will see you next time!
Last week we celebrated National Security Officer Appreciation Week at the Home of the Huskies. Our students and staff appreciated our security officer, Officer Mosley with cards, posters, chants, gifts, food and more for her week. Officer Mosley, we thank you for all you do for our school community at Huffman Elementary School! We hope you enjoyed your week!
We want to thank all of our students and their families who came out to Family Game Night 2024 at the Home of the Huskies! It was a great night of fun for our students, families and staff. Shout out to the Family Game Night Committee for organizing and hosting this event! You all Rock! We will see you next month in October for our Family Skate Night, Monthly Parent Meeting, Parent Teacher Conferences, and Trunk or Treat. Stay tuned and get involved.
Grandparents' Day 2024 at Huffman Elementary School!
Huffman Elementary School was honored to celebrate Grandparents' Day today at the Home of the Huskies! We welcomed 94 grandparents to celebrate with 101 of our students. Our students and grandparents had light refreshments for breakfast and enjoyed coloring activities together. We are thankful for the support of our grandparents and school community. Thank you for making our students' day! We look forward to seeing you all at our next event!

Today is our day! We will have our Meet and Greet this evening at 5:00 pm. I am looking forward to meeting all of our parents and to discussing parental involvement for the school year.
